Stay and Play

Each term we host a 'Stay and Play' on all different areas of the Early Years curriculum. This is an opportunity for you to come and see how we encourage and teach areas such as reading, writing, maths and phonics. It is also a chance for you to see what we do in school, what you can do at home and how we can help.

We will share many resources, websites and activities for you to do at home to help support your child and to give them the very best start.

Phonics Day

Reception and Year One participated in a Phonics day, where they visited each classroom for a different phonics experience such as a sound hunt, busy finger phonics, tricky word and decodable word games. 

In the afternoon, parents and carers joined in and we looked at how phonics is taught in school and how you can support your child at home. We also introduced some tricky words we have been learning. Our tricky word songs can be found at the bottom of the page. 

Reading 

We have been so excited to share our love of reading and some tips for reading at home. This week we shared a story with parents and their children and they got to explore the book through some fun and creative activities. They also got to take home a FREE book!!!

Maths Day

Reception took part in Maths Day where we explored some exciting problem solving activities across the two classes. In the afternoon we invited parents and carers to come join the fun and they explored the different activities that are easy to set up at home.

Mothers Day Tea Party

We invite all mothers and carers to join us for a story and afternoon decorating biscuits to celebrate Mother's Day.
