Homework

Reading

Each week the children are expected to read at least 3 times at home. It is vital that you listen to your child read and if you want to encourage your child on further, but are unsure how to discuss your child's book with them, click on the link below for some ideas. Reading diaries must be brought in to school every day and will be checked formally every Friday. Every child who reads 3 times each week will recieve 3 dojos! Children who do not have evidence of having read 3 times will attend Catch-up sessions during their lunchtime the following Monday.

Spelling

On a Friday, the children will recieve their new spellings for following the week. This will be done through the Spelling Shed website. These spellings will focus around one main spelling rule and children should practise at least 3 nights a week. We will have a spelling test each Friday. If a child works hard to remember their spellings and scores highly in their test on a Friday they will get 3 dojos!

Times Tables

Times Tables are a huge focus in Key Stage 2 and the children are eager to improve and learn more. Times Tables homework will be sent out every Friday on Times Tables Rock Star and we will verbally test children throughout the week. In order for your child to move on to the next Times Table, they need to be able to fluently recall multiplication and division facts within 3 seconds. If your child wants to continue practising at home then try the links below to a few exciting websites.
