Reading Buddies

    

In September groups of children from Year Four, Five and Six, were trained on how to be a Reading Buddy. Each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at 3.00pm, these children visit a year group from Year One, Year Two or Year Three and read with the younger children to help develop their basic reading skills. They have been trained up on how to model good reading and promote a love and enjoyment of reading from a young age. They also ask different questions about the book and support decoding unfamiliar words.

The children really enjoy having their Reading Buddy come down and listen to them read.
