Welcome to Year Two

Hello and welcome to Year Two. In Hawthorn class the class teacher is Mrs Culleton. Miss Jakeman will also be in the classroom during the Autumn term. They are assisted by Miss Jackson.  In Birch class the class teacher is Miss Moore and on Friday the teacher is Mrs Oakley. They are assisted by Mr Harvey and Mr Walker.

If you have any queries or concerns about your child's learning then please do not hesitate to speak to us, either before or after school.  

PE is on Thursday.

Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit. This includes a Beechwood PE tshirt  (in your child's correct house colour), black shorts or jogging bottoms and trainers or pumps along with school jumper or cardigan. 

Starting the Day

The school day will start with classroom doors opening at 8.40am. They will be closed at 8.50am. The school day will end at 3.20pm. As a school we are aiming for 96% attendance so please ensure that you are in everyday! Punctuality is also incredibly important. 

Snack and Lunch

The cost of snack is £2.50 per week and this is paid through the school Gateway app. This includes one piece of toast each day or a alternative hot snack. If you wish your child to have a healthy snack from home, please make sure it isn't chocolate, crisps or fizzy drinks - thank you. We do offer the children free fruit each day as well, please encourage your child to accept it.

Just a reminder, your child is also entitled to a free school dinner every day whilst in Key Stage 1. Each day they can choose from our hot dinner menu or a jacket potato.

Uniform

Please label all uniform including coats, P.E. kit, shoes, hats and jumpers. It is extremely difficult to locate lost uniform if it does not have a name on it. We will be labelling these items if they are not already labelled. Jumpers will need to have the Beechwood logo.

As a school, we take safeguarding very seriously. This includes internet safety and we are very aware that many children enjoy spending time on tablets, phones and even playing with Alexa!
